In 1919, the Association added the Sunday School Convention, now known as the Congress of
Christian Education. In 1913, the Woman’s Auxiliary, and in 1940, the Usher Board now known as the HELPS Ministry. The Association continued to progress and thrive under the leadership of Moderators J. B. Ellis and W. L Wilson.
Today, the Association is known as The High Point Educational and Missionary Baptist Association, Inc. to focus on the missionary efforts our association has undertaken with giving to the less fortunate in our country and abroad, along with the efforts made by our leaders to offer a variety of educational opportunities for association members to grow spiritually and mentally. During the Association’s One Day Sessions, Annual Scholarship Revival and Annual Summer Conference, the ministry and mission of the HPEMBA is introduced and taught to all who attend.
The HPEMBA provides support for its member churches and congregants in a number of ways including pastoral support and fellowship, ordination classes for those who have been called to preach (per pastor recommendation only), and opportunities for those in leadership to gain a wealth of knowledge needed for ministry.
The HPEMBA is also a great resource for youth! Youth and Children's Trac was created to provide spiritual support, fellowship and fun for youth ages 5-22! Classes are offered during all sessions to enhance our youth to become TODAY’S spiritual leaders in their churches and communities. High school seniors also have the opportunity to apply for the Annual HPEMBA Scholarship for students seeking a higher education after graduation.
To date, there are over thirty churches registered with HPEMBA.
